CHARLESTON – State Sen. Greg Tucker, D-Nicholas, will hold a public informational town hall meeting on Saturday at Elkins City Hall, at 401 Davis Ave. in Elkins, to discuss the state’s preparation for and response to recent weather-related disasters, such as the derecho and Superstorm Sandy, that devastated parts of West Virginia.

Sen. John Unger, the West Virginia Senate Majority Leader; Sammy Gray of First Energy; Jimmy Gianato, director of the West Virginia Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management; Major General James Hoyer, Adjutant General, West Virginia National Guard; and Marvin Murphy, assistant deputy secretary, West Virginia Department of Transportation, will be available to provide information and answer questions.

The scheduled public informational meeting is from 10 a.m. to noon. The town hall-style meeting will afford participants an opportunity to learn from these representatives about their preparation and response, to ask questions and to state their views and opinions for consideration in the developing future preparation and response plans.
