Deadline for Junior Royalty Revue extended
The deadline to enter the West Virginia Strawberry Festival’s Junior Royalty Revue has been extended to Feb. 25.
There are five age groups for both boys and girls in the 2013 pageant. The age groups are for ages 4-5, 6-7, 8-9, 10-11 and the Junior Queen and King Division for ages 12-13. Each age division will award three places – Princess or Prince, 1st Maid or Page and 2nd Maid or Page. There will also be a Strawberry Spirit Award given to one boy and one girl in the 4- and 5-year-old division. The entry fee for the pageant is $70, and children may be sponsored by their parents or by a business. Entrants must be a resident of West Virginia.
Entrants will model both party wear and casual wear.
The pageant will be held on March 9 at Buckhannon-Upshur High School. Registration begins at 9 a.m., followed by a 9:30 a.m. rehearsal and 10 a.m. interview in the Queen’s Division. The public portion of the pageant begins at 1 p.m. Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for ages 12 and younger.
The pageant will again feature a Photogenic Award for both boys and girls.
To enter the contest, a $10 per child registration and a recent photograph must accompany the registration form. No 8×10 photographs will be accepted. The contest will be judged by local photographers prior to the pageant. The winners will be part of the Festival’s Junior Royalty Parade.
