Weston Street Fair set for Saturday

Street fairs are a great occasion for visitors and residents to enjoy their downtown areas. They also offer an opportunity for a variety of small businesses to set up portable storefronts on the street.

Organizers of the eighth annual Weston Street Fair planned for this Saturday are fulfilling both of those goals. More than 20 vendors will sell their wares during the event from noon to 5 p.m. on East Second Street.

Rus Reppert will provide music during the day. From Bridgeport, Reppert is a guitarist who combines techniques such as tapping, looping and alternate tunings to give his fingerstyle guitar a life of its own.

Vendors who are scheduled to set up on Main Avenue include: Rhonda Wilson, body wraps; Juanita Palmer, handmade bears, angels, etc.; Vernon Faris, windchimes, wood crafts; Dolores Mathew, Celebrating Home; Tonya Shriver, Thirty-One products; Kathy and Bill Daley, handmade decorations and holiday items; Beth Cross, baked goods; St. Pat’s, pizza; Casey Lough, Origami Owl featuring lockets, charms, dangles, etc.; Joyce Greenlief, original paintings; Kevin Vallaincourt, primitive wares; Sheila Vincent Verdon, Avon and Longaberger products; Katrina Posey, primitive items; Karen Pennebaker, handmade jewelry, other items; Kay Henline, Creekside Crafts by K; Jane Lew Lions Club, brooms; Jody Gragg Zickefoose, garden sculptures; Jane Lew Auxiliary, Rada cutlery; Catherine Ratliff, homemade bread and quilt chances; and others.
