EHS announces dates for orientation
Freshman students and parents will have orientation Aug. 7. All freshman students are to report to Elkins High School from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Aug. 7 to have student orientation. Students will meet in the school auditorium.
Students will pick up their schedules and have photographs taken for ID cards. The students will tour the school and Student Council members will provide activities. Parents of the freshman students will report to the school auditorium at 5:30 p.m. for parent orientation. Orientation for both students and parents will end around 6:30 p.m. Please call 304-636-9170 with any questions or concerns.
All EHS seniors, juniors and sophomores may pick up their schedules and purchase parking permits Aug. 8 from noon to 4:30 p.m. at the front office of the school.
The office will have extended hours from 4 to 6 p.m. Aug. 13 for any student that is unable to come at the scheduled time.
The parking permits may be purchased for $25 per semester or $50 for the entire year. In order to obtain a parking permit, students must provide the following: a valid driver’s license, valid registration for primary vehicle, valid proof of insurance statement for primary vehicle, signed parental consent form and signed random drug testing form and have a GPA of at least 2.0 for the most recent completed semester. Report card verification must accompany the application. Students may pick up the application before the registration date at the EHS office in order to have their parents to sign the form.
