Oil and Gas Festival searching for pageant contestants
The 45th annual West Virginia Oil and Gas Festival’s Queen Pageant Committee is looking for young ladies from all parts of West Virginia to be contestants in the pageant Aug. 10 at Sistersville Elementary School in Sistersville.
The new queen will receive $1,800, a crown, a sash, flowers, a plaque and gifts and will reign during the Sept. 12-14 Oil and Gas Festival activities and the Grand Oil and Gas Trophy Parade in Sistersville. The new queen also will represent the festival at the January Fairs and Festivals Convention in Charleston for the title of West Virginia State Fair Queen.
Young ladies interested in being a contestant in this year’s pageant can contact Joberta White, pageant director. Rules of entry and an application form are available via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or call White at 304-652-2330. The deadline for entry is Aug. 1. An entry fee is required for the pageant.
