Upshur CEOS clubs promote membership

In celebration of Upshur County CEOS Week, five clubs participated in a window display competition to promote membership. The Heavner Grove CEOS has its display at Miller’s Pharmacy. Lorentz CEOS has its display on the right side of Ameriprise. The Pringle Tree CEOS has its display at Whimsical Treasures. The Rock Cave CEOS has its display at NTelos and the Teter CEOS has its display on the left side of Ameriprise.

The Pringle Tree display took first place in the competition, followed by the Teter display and Heavner Grove.

The West Virginia University Extension office urges residents to stroll down Main Street in Buckhannon to view these displays.

The county’s 11 clubs, combining for more than 200 members, have contributed more than 32,000 documented hours of community service to Upshur County over the past year. CEOS members meet at community buildings and in individual homes on a monthly basis to plan for social activities and community service projects.

Anyone interested in joining a CEOS club may stop at the Mini-Fair in the courthouse plaza today, Friday, Sept. 6, and talk with the members, or they can call the Extension office at 304-473-4208.
