Shor promoted by Alderson Broaddus

Alderson Broaddus University is pleased to announce the promotion of Eric Shor as associate provost. Shor has two primary tasks in his new role: maintaining accreditation and assessing student learning at AB.

Dr. Joan Propst, provost at AB, says Shor has a great skills set for the position, as he’s articulate, organized, a team player, and is well respected in the AB community.

“The work that Eric does is so important to the institution; he is a natural for it. He thinks strategically and he is able to work effectively with people in the institution to get the job done,” said Propst.

As associate provost, Shor has been very busy dealing with the accreditation of the university. Some of his most recent work was a focused visit. With the hard work from faculty and staff, AB was able to secure accreditation until the 2016-2017 academic year.

Shor has been with Alderson Broaddus University since 1999 when he was first hired as an athletic trainer. He contributes many things to why he has devoted his career to AB, the primary reason being the people.

“Everyone from the students, staff, faculty, and administration care about making AB great and it becomes infectious,” he said.

Shor and his wife, Amber, an alumna of Alderson Broaddus, reside in Quiet Dell with their young son, Adrik.
