Beverly man facing wanton endangerment charges

BEVERLY – A Randolph County man was arrested on wanton endangerment charges on New Year’s Day, police said.

Lee Alan Ketterman, 29, of Beverly, is facing two counts of wanton endangerment after officials from the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to an “early morning hours” call telling them that Ketterman “was outside of his residence revving up his engine in his pick-up, squealing tires, yelling and shooting a firearm in multiple directions,” according to the official criminal complaint.

Police arrived on scene and found a small red pick-up truck but could not locate Ketterman. They learned that the neighbors were “awakened in the early morning hours by the sound of a car horn, revving of an engine, squealing tires, and yelling,” according to the complaint.

The neighbors told police that when they went outside they found that Ketterman was the source of the noise. Ketterman “started yelling at (the neighbors) saying that he was going to kill both of them along with their children,” and telling them that he “was going to shoot up their residence and burn it down,” according to the criminal complaint.

One of the neighbors told police that he heard a gun go off behind their house. Both neighbors told police they heard multiple shots fired.

Ketterman was arraigned by Magistrate Ben Shepler and is free after posting a $50,000 cash or surety bond.
