DAR awards scholarship

John Hart Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution recently awarded a $500 scholarship grant to Tosha N. Triplett of Elkins, who is enrolled in the Randolph Technical Center School of Practical Nursing.

The chapter has given this award to a practical nursing student for the past several years, in keeping with its purpose of promoting education in Randolph County, according to Chapter Regent Mary Anger. Applicants must be residents of Randolph County and are chosen on the basis of their academic records, recommendation and personal essays detailing their extra-curricular activities, work experience, volunteer service and future goals.

Applications for the 2015 school year may be obtained in the fall from the director of the Randolph Technical Center School of Practical Nursing.

Completed application must be submitted by Jan. 15, 2015.
