HAS tours maple syrup farm

Highland Adventist School students spent a recent day learning how maple syrup is made at the Blue Rock Farm in Helvetia.

Blue Rock owners Don Olson and Linda Zimmer gave the students a tour and lesson on the maple syrup industry. Following the farm tour, the group traveled to Helvetia where they learned about the history and culture of the community while visiting the Helvetia Museum and the Helvetia Mask Museum.

“Our county has such a rich and fascinating history,” said Cheryl Jacko, principal. “The students really gained a new appreciation of it on this trip. We appreciate the efforts of the Blue Rock Farm owners and the folks in Helvetia in giving our students this outstanding educational experience.”
