Fur Ball set for Friday

The 6th annual Fur Ball, to benefit the Randolph County Humane Society, will be held from 7 to 11 p.m. Friday.

This year’s event is hosted by Davis & Elkins College at the Halliehurst Mansion on the D&E campus.

Tickets for the Fur Ball are being offered for sale by RCHS Board members and can be purchased at the Randolph County Humane Society. Tickets will also be available at the door. Tickets are $35 per person or $40 the night of the event.

The Fur Ball is a semi-formal affair which will include horsd’oeuvers, live music, refreshments, wine, and beer. The evening will also include raffles and a silent auction.

Some of the items to be sold at silent auction are: a 3-month unlimited pass to the Elkins Cinema, items from local artists, tons of pet accessories and a variety of local dining and merchant gift certificates, just to name a few.

The Fur Ball is the Randolph County Humane Society’s major fund-raising event of the year and is an important source of income. All proceeds from Fur Ball 2014 will be applied to the direct care of the residents of RCHS.

The Randolph County Humane Society is a private, not for profit, open admissions animal shelter. RCHS accepts most homeless, lost, neglected, injured, abused and owner-relinquished pets that are brought to the shelter.

It is the mission of RCHS to provide every canine and feline resident the most humane treatment possible with regard to living conditions, medical treatment, socialization and daily care and to be their best advocate for placement in safe, loving, and permanent homes. RCHS believes that all animals deserve to be treated with dignity, kindness and respect, regardless of age or physical condition, and that every animal has the potential to be rescued.

All donations to RCHS are tax-deductible. For more information or to purchase tickets, you may email fundraising@rchswv.org, call RCHS at 304-636-7844, or Larissa Fowler, Vice President of Fundraising, at 724-822-8875.
