USDA approves grant for Heart and Hand House
MORGANTOWN – State Director Bobby Lewis announced that USDA Rural Development approved a Community Facilities Grant in the amount of $23,700 for Heart and Hand House Inc. in Barbour County.
Rural Development funds will be used to assist with renovations to the Community Garden Market at its new location at 106 South Main Street, Philippi. The 7,200 sq. ft. building formerly housed the IGA Grocery Store and was vacant for five years prior to its current occupancy.
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) remains focused on carrying out its mission, despite a time of significant budget uncertainty. This announcement is one part of the Department’s efforts to strengthen the rural economy.
