PHILIPPI — BC Community Foundation announced two additional scholarship recipients

These fields of study will help prepare her for a career in preserving West Virginia wildlife and writing for wildlife magazines.

Elliott’s high school years were spent in both academic and volunteer efforts. At PBHS, she was s member of the National Honor Society and a member of and officer in the Technology Student Association. She served as president of the school’s TSA and as treasurer of the state organization.

As president of the local chapter she was instrumental in securing grants and donations enabling the local chapter to attend the TSA national convention in Dallas. She is also an active member of the West Virginia Draft Horse and Mule Association.

As a volunteer, Elliott took care of native West Virginia wildlife at the West Virginia Wildlife Center for four years. She also volunteered as a server at the Eastern Star and Masonic Lodge dinners in addition to volunteering for Bethany College’s Oglebay Park pony rides for children.
