Snowy weather freezes Philippi council agenda
PHILIPPI – A Philippi City Council work session and regular meeting – both scheduled for Tuesday evening – have been rescheduled after the region was blasted with snow.
The meeting is the second consecutive Philippi City Council meeting that has been postponed due to weather. A meeting scheduled for Jan. 7 also was rescheduled, and business from that meeting was planned to be addressed during Tuesday’s meeting, Mayor Jerry Mouser said.
Mouser said one of the topics of the rescheduled meeting deals with 911 addressing and mapping changes.
The work session will now take place at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 28 at City Hall, followed by the City Council meeting at 7 p.m.
During the work session, Council members will discuss a request from Code Blue, the Streetscape project grant, Snyder Industries, Delta Cooling, The Little Laurel Run Dam, a project coordinator position, a goal setting meeting, task force equipment and police department training.
At the Council meeting, members will discuss the 911 issue, the Little Laurel Run Dam, the transfer station and garbage rates, a draw-down request for the waste water project and a resolution involving the Streetscape project grant.
