Champion chefs slated at Adaland

PHILIPPPI – Chef Geoff Krauss of Weston’s Thyme Bistro joins Adaland Mansion’s fourth season of Celebrate Local! as guest chef for a 1 p.m. seating Sunday.

Celebrate Local! is Adaland’s ongoing farm-to-table celebration. The dinner series continues to “celebrate local foods and the extraordinary chefs who prepare them,” according to Adaland’s spokesperson.

While the Sunday-dinner at Adaland is Chef Krauss’ first visit to the restored 1870 mansion, he is not a newcomer to the concept of celebrating local foods as he has become well known throughout the state as a West Virginia chef who emphasizes local foods. A visit to his Weston restaurant Thyme Bistro and to Thyme Bistro’s Facebook page will confirm his attention to local foods and picture perfect presentation.

Chef Krauss was a 2015 West Virginia Cast Iron CookOff champion and the 2016 Cast Iron CookOff Grand Champion Throwdown Winner. Additionally, he participates frequently in farm-to-table meals with at least three such dinners this summer. In July, Chef Krauss was featured chef at a Weston farm-to-table dinner; in August he prepared a special dinner for J.Q. Dickinson of Malden, and just two weeks ago he was one of eight chefs invited to prepare Wild and Wonderful Table’s meal served in Sutton.

“We encourage people to reserve their seats early for this Celebrate Local! dinner, the last one of the season. We expect this dinner to fill up fast because of Chef Krauss’ large following. We will take reservations until Thursday, Oct. 6,” according to Adaland Mansion’s spokesperson.
