Alumni choir set to perform
The Buckhannon-Upshur High School Alumni Choir will present its Christmas concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church in Buckhannon. Traditionally, the Alumni Choir’s concerrts have been one of the highlights of the Buckhannon Community.
The choir was founded in 1980 by James W. Knorr, director.
The choir alumni carry their candles during, “O Come, O Come, Immanuel,” placing them on the communion railing and then watching the lights come up as they sing, “Break Forth, O Beauteous Heav’nly Light.”
After Christmas music by the Concert Choir, the Chorale, the Buccanaires, and various community musicians, the entire group combines for “White Christmas,” the candlelight recessional, and finally, “The Lord Bless You and Keep You,” sung while encircling the audience.
The events on concert day begin with a social time at 1 p.m. and rehearsal beginning at 1:30 p.m. The processional will begin at 7:30 p,.m.
