Adam Joseph Burky and Kylee Christine Gear
Charles and Chris Gear of Elkins announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Kylee Christine Gear, to Adam Joseph Burky, son of Herman and Julie Burky of Elkins.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Robert and Gladys Evans of Elkins and the late James and Mary Gear of Huttonsville. She is a 2012 Top 10 graduate of Elkins High School and a 2016 cum laude graduate of West Virginia University with a bachelor of science in exercise physiology with a health professions emphasis. She is pursuing a doctorate of physical therapy from WVU and will graduate in 2019.
Her fiance is the grandson of Tom and Judy Harris of Belington and the late Herbert and Hazel of Helvetia. He is a Top 10 2011 graduate of Elkins High School and a 2015 summa cum laude graduate of West Virginia University with a bachelor of science in computer engineering and a minor in computer science. He is pursuing a master of science in software engineering from WVU and will graduate in 2019. He is employed as a software engineer at Precision Data Services in Fairmont.
The maid of honor will be Jade Wharton, a close friend of the bride-elect. Bridesmaids will be Mallory Zinn, Maddie Lammers, Contrara Harlan and Amanda Boise, all friends of the bride-elect.
The best man will be Chad Harlan, close friend of the groom. Serving as first groomsman will be his best friend and brother of the bride-elect, Jaret Gear. Additional groomsmen will be Charlie Gear, brother of the bride-elect; Caleb Judy, childhood friend; and Alex Ritter, college roommate and friend.
The couple will be married Aug. 5 at Halliehurst Mansion in Elkins.
