70th Cooper reunion a success

The 70th annual Cooper reunion took place Aug. 10 at the Harman Mountain Farm Campground.

Those participating in morning devotions were Libby, Tom and Don Cooper, Louise Teter, Merry Ellen Dice and Merry Lou Vance.

Prizes went to Mark and Delores Bennett, newlyweds. The youngest child was Bronson Guy Vance, 2 1/2. Eldest gentleman was John Mayes and eldest lady was Helen Taylor. The couple marries for the most years – 59 – went to Van and Billie Ann Wymer.

There were six people present from the Christian Cooper family, six from the Valentine Cooper family, 21 from the Elijah Cooper family, one from the Barbara Cooper family and two from the Sarah Cooper family.

Officers for next year will be President Tim Turner, Vice President Jonnie Ann Lane Skidmore, Secretary Merry Lou Vance and Treasurer Merry Ellen Dice.

The mystery photo was of Lucy Cooper Vandevander, husband, Frank. and children, Russell, Bessie and Denver.

Those winning door prizes were Delores Bennett, Betty Joyce Mayes, Jonnie Ann Lane Skidmore, Van Wymer, Jeremy Vance, Pat Lane, Don Cooper, Brody Skidmore, Louise Teter and Sissy Taylor.

There were 36 people registered at the reunion.
