Haymond Reunion a success

The annual Haymond Reunion is now a recent memory. As always, there were tables full of food and a lot of friendly conversations. The numbers for this year’s reunion were down but the spirits of the people attending were high.

Mementos of this year’s reunion were special as they were the last handblown glass from the supplier of many years. Those receiving these gifts were: Hazel Davidson as the oldest direct descendant at 97 and Linken McIle as the youngest at 11 1/2 months.

The largest family in attendance was Craig and Andrea Smith and their four children. Greg New and family traveled the farthest, coming from South Carolina. Brock and Nicole Cutright took the prize for newlyweds with 3 1/2 years, and Connie and Wayne Kinsley captured the crown for the longest wed with 49 years.

The direct descendants older than 70 were: Hazel Davidson, 97, Reva Thorton, 87, Gerald Haymond, 82, Doris Martin, 76, Carol Gooding, 74 and baby Rich Haymand made the cut at just 70.

As in many other years, the officers remained the same. The 2016 reunion will be the Sunday before Labor Day.
