Mr. and Mrs. Brain M. Stockinger
The evening wedding of Heather Jane Shifflett and Brian Matthew Stockinger took place in a magical beach setting, just as the sun went down, on April 13 at Englewood, Fla.

The bride wore a flowing empire waist dress of white chiffon, with a sweetheart neckline, embellished with crystal accents, clear shiny sequins and silver bugle beads.
She wore a crystal tiara, accented by a shoulder length double veil adorned with exotic silver beads.
The pink sunset mirrored the bride’s pink lily and white orchid bouquet.
Serving as the maid of honor was Kim Calain, friend of the bride, of Elkins. Bridesmaids were Kristin Stockinger, sister of the groom, of Englewood, Fla., Rondelle Hagens and Amanda Cooke, friends of the bride, both of Greensboro, N.C. They all wore bright fuchsia, chiffon dresses with rhinestone embellishment and matching rhinestone necklaces and earrings. They carried hand-tied bouquets of fuchsia, blue and white carnations and roses.
Flower girls were Amyah Harris, daughter of the bride, of Greensboro, N.C., and Serenity Shifflett, niece of the bride, of Elkins. They wore white chiffon dresses with a lace bodice, spaghetti straps and the waistline embellished with white lace flowers. They carried baskets of fuchsia petals which they dropped in the sand as they proceeded to the seashell decorated arbor.
The best man was Sam Tilly, friend of the groom, of Englewood, Fla. Groomsmen were Jeff Shifflett, brother of the bride, of Elkins, Bryce Childress, cousin of the groom, of Greensboro, N.C., and Thomas Skehan, cousin of the groom, of Englewood, Fla. All wore Bordeaux-blue button-up shirts with khaki dress shorts. The groom wore khaki dress shorts with a long sleeve fitted white shirt. The wedding party and several guests were “barefoot in the sand.”
The Rev. Terry Zic performed the wedding ceremony, which included a unity sand ceremony to celebrate the new family of Heather, Brian and Amyah. David Skehan, cousin of the bridegroom, sang “Back at One.” Prelude and processional guitar music was provided by Carl Romano. The rehearsal dinner was catered by Nicola’s Restaurant. The reception dinner was catered by Backwoods Barbeque. Both were hosted at the Englewood Gardens Club. The three-tier wedding cake was decorated with a seashell theme.
Flowers for the wedding party, flower arrangements and beautiful decorations were created by the groom’s mother. Photography was provided by John Bass Photography and Chris Shifflett, stepmother of the bride.
The band played a variety of music and wedding guests joined them to sing their favorite tunes. Jeff Shifflett, the bride’s brother, played the guitar and sang “Country Roads,” which he dedicated to their grandmother.
The happy couple enjoyed their 10-day honeymoon cruise to the Southern Caribbean Islands. They just recently purchased a home and now reside in High Point, N.C.
