Marissa Leigh Price and George Nelson Donovan Case were united in a Handfasting ceremony Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, at 5 p.m. at Adaland Mansion in Philippi. The outdoor ceremony was officiated by Pastor James Johnson.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Riverside Quartet. Ceremony readings were performed by Amiah Price, sister of the bride. Following the ceremony, dinner and dancing were hosted at Adaland Mansion. The wedding photographer was April Grandinette-Davis, owner of Grandinette Photography.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Todd Price of Elkins. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Stewart of Tacy and the late Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Price of Moatsville. She graduated from Marshall University in 2012 and is a 2014 graduate of West Virginia University with a master’s degree in special education.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ian Houlison of Morgantown and Mr. George D. Case of Portland, Ore. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Austin Cunningham of Stonewood and the late Mr. and Mrs. George C. Case. He graduated from West Virginia University in 2012 and is currently pursuing his PhD in economic geology from James Cook University in Townsville, Queensland, Australia.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a cap sleeve trumpet style Melissa Sweet gown of ivory lace. The gown featured corded lace that was hand-applied in a three dimensional floral pattern over a tulle overlay and a sweep train. The dress was complemented by a birdcage veil. The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of sunflowers, wine dahlias, purple alstromeria, red hypericum berries and seeded euca with burlap ribbon and pearl accents.
Amiah Price, sister of the bride, of Elkins, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids included Lorin Keller of Huntington, Jessica Isner, Carly McElroy, Lynnlee Wyatt and Elena Knight, sister of the groom. The maid of honor and bridesmaids wore cocktail-length gowns in gem-satin fabric.
Tom Clark of Morgantown served as best man. Groomsmen included Brian Rush of Morgantown, Logan Snider, Colin Shock, Chris Tokarcik and Jeremy Kinney.
