Mr. and Mrs. Phillip A. Painter Jr.
Mallory K. Carr and Phillip A. Painter Jr. were married June 18 at Hart Chapel Church in Elkins.
The bride is the daughter of Terry and Brenda Carr of Elkins. She is the granddaughter of Mary Lou Irwin and the late Fred Irwin and Granville Carr and the late Marg Carr. She is employed by Berkeley County Schools as a Pre-K teacher in Bunker Hill.
The bride-groom is the son of Allen and Joyce Painter of Harpers Ferry. He is the grandson of the late Lester and Anna Nick and the late Arnold and Evelyn Painter. He is a park ranger for Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority in Sterling, Virginia.
James Irwin, C.R.E., great-uncle of the bride, and Judy Ritchie, bride’s family friend, officiated. The ceremony included a prayer by the bride’s family friend, John Hart, and scripture read from the bride’s late grandmother’s Bible.
The matron of honor was Miranda Shaffer of Biloxi, Mississippi, cousin of the bride. Bridesmaids were Amanda Schoenberger of Morgantown, Amanda Rude of Falling Waters, Megan Cosner and Tina Hissam, both of Martinsburg. The flower girl was Ariella Brown of Elkins, cousin of the bride.
The best man was Joe Staubs of Harpers Ferry. Groomsmen were Kevin Durkin of Whitefish, Montana; Mike Durkin of Sterling, Virginia; Brant Carr of Martinsburg and Ethan Carr of Elkins, brothers of the bride. Mason and Max Bustamante of Harpers Ferry, cousins of the groom, served as junior usher and ring bearer.
Clarissa Carr, sister-in-law of the bride, and Marissa Long and Sommer Dilly, cousins of the bride, were the wedding program and guestbook attendants. Friends of the couple, David Lawson and Xavier Williams, performed clarinet and piano music for the ceremony. Mary Beth Long and Mikayla Markley, cousins of the bride, sang at the reception.
Following the reception at Orchard Hall, the couple celebrated their honeymoon in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. The couple reside in Martinsburg.
