Emily Beth Sutton and Joshua Aaron Currence were married Sept. 1 during an outside, pavilion ceremony on the grounds of Camp Pioneer in Beverly with the Rev. Fred Bird officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Steven and Sharon Sutton of Elkins.

The bridegroom is the son of Billy and Lisa Currence of East Dailey.

The bride was escorted to the altar and given in marriage by her parents.

The bride’s dress was an Allure lace gown with a V-neckline and a mermaid skirt. She wore an embellished belt and a fingertip length veil.

Angela Howell, best friend of the bride, of Elkins served as matron of honor. Serving as bridesmaids were Shelly Sutton Carr, sister of the bride, of Elkins, Miranda Shaffer, friend of the bride, of San Antonio, Texas, Chelsey Jones, cousin of the bride, of Elkins and Tracy Collins, cousin of the bride, of Morgantown. Serving as flower girls were Addison Carr, niece of the bride, and Mikaela Currence, daughter of the groom.

Stephen Jones, cousin of the bridegroom, of Stow, Ohio served as best man. Rod Gibson, uncle of the groom, of Mill Creek, Silas Gibson, cousin of the groom, of Mill Creek, Chad Currence, brother to the groom, of Clarksburg and Gavin Carr, nephew of the bride, served as groomsmen. Serving as ring bearer was Lyndon Currence, nephew of the groom.

Piano and vocal music was provided during the ceremony by Heather Preston and Nikita Coffman-Valentine, both longtime friends of the bride. Megan Reed, friend of the bride, provided a reading titled “Union” during the ceremony.

The couple chose a simple, rustic theme. Guests signed quilt squares that will later be assembled as a keepsake quilt for the bride and bridegroom. The tables were adorned by teal runners with homemade mason jar and sunflower centerpieces made by Sharon Sutton, mother of the bride. Rustic and antique decor along with flower arrangements were all handmade and provided by Morgan Nucilli of Bohemian Love in Elkins.

Appetizers and a special S’mores dessert bar was provided by the former JB Catering Excellence. Dinner was catered by Tracy Carr, brother-in-law to the bride, Karen Elza and Sue Kelly, aunts to the bride, and April Kelly, cousin of the bride. The wedding cake was provided by Suzanne Carter of Coalton.

Following a short honeymoon, the couple now resides in Elkins.
