Elkins Auto welcomes Scott

Elkins Fordland and Elkins Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram recently welcomed Bob Scott to its sales team.

Although Scott is a new face to the Elkins Auto dealership, he is anything but new to the area.

Scott was born and raised in Valley Bend and has been involved in the automobile industry his entire life. His family started in the business in the late 1950s, opening their own used car lot in 1962. In 1965, Scott’s Auto Sales began selling Chrysler and Dodge products.

As one can imagine, after more than 45 years in the automobile industry, Scott has pretty much done it all. He began by detailing cars, moving up into the parts department, then managing the service department for 12 years.

“I also ran the body shop for a while, but I didn’t do so well at that,” Scott laughs. “So I went back to where my strengths are – interacting with the customers directly in sales and management, helping figure out their needs and finding the right vehicle to meet those needs.”

After closing the doors to Scott’s Auto Sales in December, he took a few months to figure out what he wanted to do next. He finally chose Elkins Auto because they had a product that he loves and has a lifetime of experience with. He says he always has loved Chrysler products because of their innovation, and the new product lineup is no exception as they continually reinvent themselves to better meet the needs of the consumer.

“One thing I appreciate about Elkins Auto is the simplified purchasing process. They’ve streamlined everything for the consumer so buying a vehicle is hassle-free and enjoyable. I’m used to working in an environment like that and it made for a very easy transition.”

Another motivating factor was the continued growth of the dealership and their commitment to serving their community.

“Watching Elkins Fordland continue to grow and expand by opening a Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram franchise, as well as seeing how they consistently look for ways to give back to and support the local area, ultimately made my decision very easy,” Scott said. “I wanted to go to a place that was growing and cared about their customers and community as much as I do.”
