Firm opens new location

Dave’s Plumbing & Heating in Belington celebrated their new location on Friday with an open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Serving the community since 1979, Dave’s Plumbing specializes in high-efficient system heat pumps. Lifelong Barbour County resident Max Chevalier and his wife, Nekeya, took over the business in 2008. In November of 2012, he purchased the current location, located at 27 Ten Mile Rd, off Route 250.

The ceremony kicked off with a presentation of the American flag, by members of the American Legion Post 96. Post members present included Commander Ralph Baumgardner, Richard Marsh, Ed Corey and Richard Love.

“We are just glad that we could participate and provide the flag for today,” Baumgardner said. “We wish all the success in the world to Max with his business.”

Those present enjoyed a lunch consisting of hot dogs, baked beans, cookies and cake. The meal was made complete with chicken, donated by KFC in Philippi.

Vendors were present to extend their congratulations, including representatives from Valley Supply, Lennox, R. E. Michel and Habegger-Myers.

Door prizes were given away every 15 minutes, with prizes from the vendors and also from Lowe’s, Blevins, and Barnett, including everything from shirts and hats to a water heater.

Dave’s Plumbing & Heating’s family includes owners Max & Nekeya Chevalier, head installer Chuck Pitzer, head maintenance technician Truman England, assistant installer Samuel Harris, parts and supplies specialist Brandy Ketchem and maintenance scheduler and billing specialist Jo Kerns.
