Buckhannon Motor Sports is expanding

BUCKHANNON – Buckhannon Motor Sports hosted a ribbon cutting Tuesday afternoon, as the business kicked off its product expansion.

Owner Randall Bonnell became licensed in August 2015, and with the help of the West Virginia Small Business Commission and Davis Trust, has been able to expand his business. His primary product is Oreion Motors Reeper and Epic 4×4. These vehicles are street-legal side-by-sides.

He also sells Argo Amphibious ATVs, BMS Karts and UTVs, as well as scooters, and is now the only West Virginia dealer of Little Guy Teardrop Campers.

Bonnell has a background in business management and real estate. He said he has always wanted to operate this kind of a business because these are products he also enjoys. He hopes to cater to middle- to older-age couples looking to branch out to more recreation when their children leave home.

Bonnell is currently the only employee of the business, and acts as office manager, sales rep and mechanic. He said he would eventually like to be able to hire others to fill those roles. He also would like to add side by side boats to his inventory.

Buckhannon Motor Sports, located at 2403 Old Weston Road, is open 10 a.m. through 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays.
