Residents get early look at Skatezone
BELINGTON — Excitement is in the air in Belington as a dream is finally becoming reality. Friday will mark the opening day of the newest business in town, Skatezone.
Skatezone is located on Crim Avenue in Belington, across from Family Dollar, and is owned by John and Cheri Sturm.
“I’m just excited,” said John Sturm. “I was born and raised in this town and think this is a good thing. We need to get our town back, and this is an exciting thing for kids and adults as well.”
Last week, Skatezone hosted an open house for the public to get an andvance look at everything the new business has to offer.
“This is great!,” “Wow’ and “Exciting” are sentiments that were echoed throughout the evening.
It seemed to be just as exciting for the adults as for the children, officials said.
In the concession stand, favorites will be served such as corn dogs, nachos, pretzels, candy bars and more.
Skates are available for rent, or you can place an order for your very own. Gift certificates also are available.
Skatezone’s page on Facebook will be posting announcements for special skate days, such as New Year’s open parties and days when there is no school.
Skatezone will be open Friday and Saturdays from 7-9 p.m. and Sundays from 2-4 p.m. Admission is $5 per person with a $1 skate rental fee. To make a reservation in the party room, call them at 304-823-1009.
