Wesleyan offering history scholarships

Applications are being accepted now through March 1 for the Marvin W. Culpepper History Scholarship at West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buckhannon.

The $3,000 scholarship is awarded to two high school seniors who demonstrate high aptitude and plan to enroll at West Virginia Wesleyan during the fall 2013 semester. The winners must declare a major in history at the institution and demonstrate financial need. Renewal is contingent upon the student keeping in good academic standing with West Virginia Wesleyan and their continued study in the history department.

The Culpepper History Scholarship was established in 1995 by Marvin Culpepper, a 1951 graduate of the college. In addition to establishing scholarships, he frequently donates American History books to the college.

Applications should be sent to John Waltz, director of admission, West Virginia Wesleyan College, 59 College Avenue, Buckhannon, WV, 26201 and postmarked before March 1. To receive an application for this scholarship or to learn more about other available scholarships, please contact the Office of Admission at 800-722-9933 or visit www.wvwc.edu.
