College releases planetarium schedule

The Planetarium at West Virginia Wesleyan College has released show dates for the March and April seasons.

Saturday – “IMAX Hubble.” In this IMAX movie, viewers will travel with the astronauts as they make vital repairs and upgrades to the Hubble Space Telescope.

March 16 – “Bill Nye: The Planets.” In this episode, Billy Nye gets up close and personal with each of the solar system’s planets and moons.

April 6 – “Voyage to Pandora: First Interstellar Space Flight.” Pandora is the idyllic blue world featured in the movie “Avatar.” Its location is a real place: Alpha Centauri, the nearest star to our Sun and the most likely destination for our first journey beyond the solar system.

April 20 – “Food in Space.” Have you ever wondered how astronauts do the simple things, like eat and go to the bathroom, in space?

Shows begin at 8 p.m. on the second floor of Christopher Hall. For more information on the Planetarium at West Virginia Wesleyan College, anyone interested can contact Tracey DeLaney at or 304-473-8330.
