Free puppet show offered

Sonshine Puppet Ministry of Otterbein United Methodist Church is a team of local people who do Christian puppetry in the Elkins area. The team travels to area churches and events to present their message in a way that is fun for adults as well as children.

Sonshine Puppets have performed at Hooked on Fishing and the Martin Street Fair. The team members do all the work as puppeteers, stage assemblers, prop makers, costume designers and light and sound technicians.

The group is always looking for new talent and welcomes anyone ages 12 through adult who is interested in learning puppetry or who has a skill that could be shared. Sonshine Puppet Ministry meets to practice at 5:30 p.m. Mondays at Otterbein United Methodist Church.

Sonshine Puppet Ministry invites the community and area churches to attend a free puppet show at 6 p.m. July 27 at Otterbein United Methodist Church at 111 S. Davis Ave. in Elkins. The show is rated E for everyone. The material is suitable for people of all ages – from the very young to the very young at heart. Refreshments will follow in the Fellowship Hall.

For more information, call 304-591-2776. A free-will offering will be taken at the performance.
