Stonewall Resort revving up for car show

Stonewall Resort will offer an afternoon and evening of cars, music and food Saturday, Aug. 3 at the Lewis County, lakeside resort state park, officials announced recently.

Steve Ludwig, director of sales and marketing at Stonewall Resort said, “We’re excited to again host the Summer Knights Cruzin Association for an afternoon car show, as well as great music by Morgantown’s acclaimed soul and funk group, The Soul Miners. This is a perfect summer event for the whole family to enjoy.”

Ludwig said the car show will begin at 3 p.m. and is being sponsored by the Summer Knights Cruzin Association. The organization was formed as a nonprofit, drug- and alcohol-free organization in 1986 to bring together car enthusiasts in central West Virginia. The group will feature all types of cars, including antiques, classics, street rods and street machines.

Beginning at 7 p.m., The Soul Miners – recently voted the Best Band in Morgantown – will perform on the Roanoke Activity Plaza lawn. Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs. Barbecue and other food items will be available for purchase at the event.

This concert is provided through the generous sponsorship of McFly Outdoors in conjunction with the Mountain Lakes CVB.

“We hope the public will come out, bring the entire family and enjoy this excellent day of entertainment at Stonewall Resort,” Ludwig concluded.

There is a $5 per car admission fee to enter Stonewall Resort State Park on Aug. 3 after 3 p.m. Once inside the park grounds, there is no cost to attend the car show or concert.
