Herb Association promotes festival
The West Virginia Herb Association is pleased to announce the venue details for its annual Fall Festival, scheduled for Friday and Saturday, Sept. 27-28, at Jackson’s Mill in Weston. One focus of the festival will be the celebration of the Herb of the Year, which is the Elderberry.
The Fall Festival will be from noon through 6 p.m. Friday, resumes Saturday at 8 a.m. and concludes at 5 p.m. the same day.
This fun-filled, learning event includes many herbal topics, workshops and hands-on demonstrations, as well as the opportunity to shop from our herbal vendors, and music for your listening pleasure – something for everyone!
Some of the festival’s presenters include Dr. June Turner (Saturday from 10-11:30), Bill Church, author of “West Virginia Medicinal Plants, Trees, and Shrubs Field Guide,” Dr. Daniel Frank, WVU entomologist, and Bonnie Buchman, who will discuss Lyme disease.
Other planned subjects include emergency herbal first aid, herbal cheese and butter, plant botany, mushrooms, biodynamics and more.
Lunch will be available on Saturday for a small fee and must be ordered in advance. Please indicate when you register if you wish to order the lunch.
