Scholarship deadline set for Oct. 14

For the eighth year in a row, Magic 106.5, WBTQ 93.5 and West Virginia Wesleyan College will award scholarships that will forever change the lives of families in North Central West Virginia.

The American Scholar Program provides a full, four-year scholarship to Wesleyan that includes tuition, room and board. The first and second runners-up will receive four-year scholarships of $5,000 and $2,500 respectively in addition to other Wesleyan academic awards.

Students from Barbour, Braxton, Doddridge, Gilmer, Harrison, Lewis, Marion, Monongalia, Preston, Randolph, Ritchie, Taylor, Tucker and Upshur counties are eligible for the scholarship competition.

Students can apply online at or submit a paper application to West Virginia Wesleyan College’s Office of Admission. Scholarship candidates are required to send Wesleyan their high school transcript and ACT or SAT scores. All application materials must be submitted before Oct. 14, 2013.

The program is sponsored by West Virginia Wesleyan College, in conjunction with West Virginia Radio Corporation.
