Stonewall Resort to celebrate Thanksgiving

Stonewall Resort will kick off the holiday season with a delicious, traditional Thanksgiving Day buffet followed by a whole host of weekend events and activities – to include a ceremonial lighting of the Resort’s Christmas Tree on Friday – designed to get you in the Holiday Spirit, representatives of Stonewall Resort announced recently.

According to Steve Ludwig, director of sales and marketing at Stonewall Resort, ‘”We’re inviting guests to get an early jump on the holiday season with our incredible Thanksgiving Day buffet and other meal options, and then enjoy a weekend full of holiday themed movies, storytelling, culinary and craft demonstrations, along with a host of recreation activities.”

Ludwig said three Thanksgiving meal options will be offered this holiday, running from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday. Guests can enjoy a buffet in Stillwaters Restaurant, a four-course meal with an incredible view in Lightburns Restaurant overlooking the property or for large parties (eight or more), a special family style service in the Ballroom.

The Stillwaters Thanksgiving Buffet will feature a plethora of traditional and non-traditional items – from a variety of breads, salads and sides to several entrees, including turkey, and desserts. Lightburns Restaurant will feature a choice of three delectable entrees, as well as a unique appetizer, salad and dessert. As a special treat, each family dining with Stonewall Resort for Thanksgiving will also receive a free pumpkin pie to take home as a gift.

Reservations are required, and can be made by calling 304-269-8880.

Beginning Friday, guests will get in the spirit of the holidays by participating in a variety of holiday craft demonstrations, to include a wreath-making workshop, model train demonstration, movies and recreation activities. Guests are invited to ring in the Christmas season with the first annual Stonewall tree lighting, taking place at 5:30 p.m., complete with caroling, cookies and delicious hot cocoa.

There will be live music throughout the weekend and even a mixology demonstration on Saturday where guests will learn how to make holiday martinis. Activities will conclude on Sunday with a festive brunch with “Santa” from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. as well as the annual Mountain Laurel Spa Open House, featuring free chair massages, $2 paraffin hand dips and skin consultations. The first 50 guests get a free gift.
