Barbour County CEOS plans annual Winter Fair
BELINGTON — On March 3 and 4, the Barbour County Community Educational Outreach Service will put on the Winter Fair at the Belington Volunteer Fire Department in Belington. The fair will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.
Organizers say this year’s entertainment lineup is spectacular, featuring the best of the surrounding area.
The schedule for March 4 includes Valli Davis at 11 a.m., John Daugherty at noon, Soda Pop Gypsies at 1 p.m., Rich Spotloe and the Good Ole Boys at 2 p.m., Marissa Mallow at 3 p.m., Joyful Noise at 4 p.m. and Lee Barcus at 5 p.m. The organizers thank all the entertainers for donating their time to the fundraiser.
Cake walks will start at 10 a.m. March 4 and go throughout the day. John Lloyd and Gary Golden will be on site to weave some chair bottoms at 9 a.m. each day.
A large variety of crafters and vendors will attend, offering everything from primitive items to fishing lures available for purchase.
Also on March 4, there will be Kid’s Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be crafts, games and activities for children.
Food is also a big part of the Winter Fair. The menu includes biscuits and gravy, vegetable soup, bean soup, cornbread, hotdogs, ham sandwiches, pork barbecue, coleslaw, potato salad, nachos, Edna’s famous pickled eggs, big dill pickles, coffee, hot tea, soft drinks, water and a variety of baked items.
The kitchen will open at 8 a.m. for breakfast.
The Barbour County CEOS is a nonprofit organization that works hard for the betterment of the community. The group donates proceeds to many organizations throughout Barbour County and the surrounding area. Members also do many volunteer hours in the area.
There are five CEOS clubs located in Barbour County. Last year the group celebrated its 90th birthday at the Barbour County
Fairgrounds.
