U.S. SBA to take part in Lunch & Learn

PHILIPPI — The U.S. Small Business Administration’s West Virginia District Office will present at the Barbour County Chamber of Commerce Lunch & Learn event at noon March 8 at the Market Place.

The federal government is the world’s largest buyer of goods and services, with purchases totaling more than $439 billion dollars per year. SBA’s West Virginia Deputy District Director George Murray will give an overview of how small business can get a slice of the pie.

“I have a passion for educating small businesses on government contracting,” states Murray. “Because of our proximity to Washington D.C., there is a vast opportunity for small businesses in West Virginia to take advantage of federal contracting as a means to grow their business.”

The event is located at 107 S. Main St. in Philippi, across from Rite Aid, and is open to all business owners. The Barbour County Chamber of Commerce is hosting the lunch, and a meal can be purchased by calling and making a reservation at 304-457-1958.
