The Snowshoe Foundation, for the third year in a row, has enabled the completion of an essential Welcome Center improvement.

By utilizing a Snowshoe grant, the center received the necessary technological updates needed to nurture local community-enhancing projects and tourism-supported efforts across the region and state.

“The Snowshoe Foundation grant has empowered the Elkins Depot Welcome Center to enhance our mission of assisting the Elkins community and tourists visiting the area. The Foundation is a fantastic organization that is committed to making West Virginia a better place to live for its residents,” says Anne Beardslee, Welcome Center executive director.

Snowshoe Foundation grants and scholarships are awarded to community organizations throughout Randolph, Pocahontas and Webster counties of West Virginia and assists in funding projects that benefit community members. Since 2002, the Foundation has given away over $2,000,000 in support of their mission.

Three Snowshoe Foundation fundraising events are held throughout the year, including the annual golf tournament on June 9, Treasure on the Mountain on Aug. 5 and the Winter Benefit Dinner which will take place next year. Treasure on the Mountain Raffle tickets can be purchased at the Elkins Depot Welcome Center, located in downtown Elkins.
