Wesleyan student honored
Kelsie Elizabeth Krantz, a senior majoring in chemistry at West Virginia Wesleyan College, received the College Chemistry Award presented by the Society for Analytical Chemists of Pittsburgh at the annual Awards Dinner May 15 at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh.
The award includes both a monetary prize and a framed certificate of accomplishment. In addition, Krantz was recognized through a monetary award presented to the West Virginia Wesleyan College library in her honor, along with an engraved nameplate. The nameplate will be added to the plaque in the chemistry department listing prior SACP winners.
Krantz is the daughter of Keith and Sherry Krantz and a 2011 graduate of Elkins High School.
While at West Virginia Wesleyan College, some of her achievements/accomplishments include: achieved Dean’s List for all semesters, recipient of the Nicholas Hyma Chemistry Award 2013-2015 and Outstanding Laboratory Assistant 2015-2016. She was the Benzene Ring Club president, internship at West Virginia University, American Scholar finalist and member of the West Virginia Highland Dancers.
