Coin-collecting business opens in historic Beverly
BEVERLY — A new business is open and operating in historic Beverly.
Cutlip Coins carries a wide variety of coins, stamps, currency, and other collectible items and is open six days a week on Main Street in Beverly. Roy Cutlip, the store owner, is a long-time coin collector. Along with direct sales, the store offers appraisals and consignment of coin collections.
“There are lots of collectors in Beverly and in this area, it’s a great place to be,” Cutlip said.
The store first opened to the public in July and it is located on the north side of Beverly’s commercial historic district. Several display cases full of small collectibles are placed throughout the shop. Display cases with coins and paper money hold items ranging from the fairly common wheat pennies (valued at 10 cents) to a few extraordinarily rare items. The store offers something for everyone and Cutlip welcomes visitors to come and survey the many unique items his store has to offer.
“People collect coins and other items for different reasons, sometimes for their sentimental value, sometimes as an investment strategy. These coins have real value, some of them are made of true silver and gold, not like today’s money,” Cutlip said.
Cutlip Coins houses an impressive collection that is worth a visit for the seasoned coin collector and a curious newcomer alike. Cutlip Coins is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays.
