BUCKHANNON — The Rev. Amy Mock Shanholtzer will serve as the featured guest speaker at West Virginia Wesleyan College’s Homecoming chapel service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday in Wesley Chapel.

The event will culminate a week’s worth of activities for the campus community and alumni.

Shanholtzer currently serves as the director of evangelism and congregational development for the West Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. Her passion includes working with people to design ways the United Methodist Church can reach a younger and more diverse audience.

“I love creating environments where life, health and growth can happen in churches and communities,” Shanholtzer said.

A 1987 graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan College with a double major in Christian education and youth services, she earned her master’s of divinity degree from Emory University. She is an ordained elder in the West Virginia Annual Conference and has served as a Christian educator and pastor of churches in West Virginia and Georgia.

One of her primary motivations is love for her family. She resides with her family in Winfield.
