ELKINS — A Log Cabin Quilters’ Guild meeting and “luvie” workshop are scheduled for Feb. 1 at St. Brendan Catholic Church, Route 250 south in Elkins.

An all-day workshop to make lap-sized quilts, called “luvies,” will begin at 9 a.m.

This is a community-outreach project for the guild, and the quilts are distributed to various local organizations. In additional to making “luvies,” guild members and guests also will work on quilts that will be donated to patients receiving treatment at the local dialysis unit in Elkins.

The workshop will conclude at 6:30 p.m. with the start of a covered-dish dinner and meeting. Anyone is welcome to come any time during the day and give an hour or more to make these luvies and dialysis quilts.

Also, another workday is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 31 at St. Brendan Church. Quilters/sewers of all skill levels are welcome. More information is available by calling Deb at 304-636-3908.
