ELKINS — The Elkins Middle School cheerleaders participated in the Preston County Invitational on Feb. 3.

“The girls continue to improve week after week,” coach Susie Reckart Martin said about the squad. “This only promotes their confidence and skill.”

The squad placed second for the overall routine and second for sideline cheer, and in jump competition, two girls placed. Tessa Martin placed second while Mackenzie Childers placed third.

Members of the squad will be heading to Liberty Feb. 24 for their final competition of the current season.

“These girls are a very talented group,” coach Kelly Vandevender said about the squad members in a recent news release. “I cannot wait to see what they bring to the Liberty competition.”
