PHILIPPI — Roger Bolton, president of the Barbour County Community Foundation, recently presented one of this year’s BCCF awards to Ed Larry, who serves as chairperson of the Blue & Gray Reunion Committee.

Larry said the Reunion Committee submitted the grant request to assist with expenses of the 2018 Walking History Day, which features 20-plus presenters who will share their pieces of history with attendees at the June 1 day of living history stations.

On behalf of the Reunion Committee, Larry extended his thanks to the BCCF for assisting in the funding one of Philippi’s premier events.

“These funds will help us tremendously to cover the expenses of our Walking History Day. Our thanks to the BCCF,” he said in a news release.

The Barbour County Community Foundation is a philanthropic body formed to assist the county to build a better life for the citizens of Barbour County in work, play and retirement. The foundation has awarded grants in education, health services, arts, recreation and beautification.

“The BCCF is always happy to provide financial assistance to local organizations that provide opportunities to so many of our community members,” Bolton said.
