Free meeting set to feature foresters
ELKINS — The Randolph County Extension Office is hosting a “meet and greet” event with local foresters from 6 to 8:30 p.m. March 8.
The evening will feature various topics of woodland ownership and refreshments. The agenda is set to include:
• 6 p.m. — Introduction/Woodland stewardship with Ryon Birtsch, West Virginia University grad student.
• 6:25 p.m. — Woodland education for landowners with Dr. Dave McGill, Forest Resources Extension.
• 7:20 p.m. — West Virginia Division of Forestry services with Ric Wernicke, Randolph County forester.
• 7:40 p.m. — Private consulting forestry services with Crystal Johnston and J.W. Wyatt.
Attendees will be able to find out answers to questions such as: How do I sell timber? What can I do with woodlands if I don’t have big trees? Can I get money to control invasive species?
