Purple Majesties group hosts March meeting

ELKINS — Members of the Elkins Purple Majesties Red Hats hosted their March meeting Monday at the Don Patron Mexican Grill Restaurant in Elkins with 26 in attendance.

Queen Mothers Debbie Cook and Carole Helmick presided over the meeting. Duchesses were Susan Channell, Evelyn Warner, Gayle Zirkle and Candy Crawford.

March birthdays were announced and members serenaded birthday majesties Crawford, Mary Lou Irwin, Zirkle (February), Judy Myers (February) and Adrienne Vance (February) with their kazoos.

Zirkle led the blessing for the luncheon. After lunch, the majesties enjoyed games led by the duchesses. At the close of the meeting, door prizes were awarded to the lucky ticket holders.

The April meeting will begin at 11:30 a.m. April 9, at Graceland Inn & Conference Center on the campus of Davis & Elkins College in Elkins. Duchesses will be Sherri White, Judy Myers, Toni Herron, Lois Matlick and Diane Wade.
