PARSONS — The delivery truck arrived this week, and Girl Scouts of Tucker County will begin delivery of cookies to customers who have preordered. Others who wish to purchase cookies will be able to visit the cookie booths to be set up throughout the county by members of Troop 10028 in Parsons and Troop 34091 in Davis.

Troop leaders Anita Helmick and Rachel Aker have been busy getting brand new Troop 10028 off the ground and running.

“This cookie sale is our first fundraiser for the troop. We are thankful for the support we have received,” Helmick said in a news release.

Cookie booths will be at Parsons Shop N Save from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and again noon to 3 p.m. Sunday while supplies last.

Meanwhile, Johnna’s Cookie Booth will start at 10 a.m. March 8 at Brenda’s Backwoods Grill on Route 72, according to volunteer Debbie Thompson.

“Johnna Mullennex is a Brownie now. She loves going to Girl Scouts and has learned so much,” Thompson said.

Mountaintop customers will be able to visit a cookie booth at the third annual Community Yard Sale and Cookie Booth from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 10 at Davis Fire Hall on Route 32 in Davis.

“It is a great time to get out and visit with friends and neighbors you haven’t seen all winter,” said Kathy Thomas, troop leader. “Stop by for a bite of lunch too, as the Scouts will have the concession stand set up.”
