Appalachian Animal Hospital welcomes new doctor
ELKINS — Dr. Tonya White and the entire staff of Appalachian Animal Hospital in Elkins are proud to announce the addition of Dr. Jay Adams to their veterinary team.
Adams is a West Virginia native, originally hailing from Fairmont. He pursued pre-veterinary education at Davis & Elkins College, where he began his journey in veterinary medicine at Appalachian Animal Hospital as a volunteer, shadowing with staff in 2011. Eventually, he was offered a position as a kennel attendant and worked his way up to veterinary assistant.
Upon his graduation from D&E, he was accepted into the Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine, from which he is a 2018 graduate.
Adams is passionate about veterinary medicine, surgery and the human-animal bond. His favorite part of the veterinary field is interacting with clients, and seeing the same passion in them that he has in caring for animals.
A proud West Virginian, he resides in Elkins and enjoys taking motorcycle trips on West Virginia back roads, exploring state parks, going off the beaten path, visiting areas often forgotten and going to hole-in-the-wall mom and pop type restaurants. An avid skier, he enjoys outdoor activities; running, biking, swimming and training for endurance events.
