Philippi Public Library announces closings
PHILIPPI — The Philippi Public Library will be closed to the public for maintenance through Friday.
During this time, library staff and volunteers will be busy cleaning carpets, making repairs, painting and other maintenance duties. Throughout the month of August, the library has been providing Fine Free Fridays. The library will honor amnesty and waive new fines on items returned to the book return on Friday.
The library be closed from Saturday through Monday for the Labor Day weekend. The library will resume regular hours of operation at 10 a.m. on Tuesday. However, it will once again be closed to the public on Friday, Sept. 7 for Staff Development Day, normally a day of meetings, training, cleaning and other library duties.
The library is normally open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays; from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays; and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. The library is typically closed to the public on the first Fridays of the month for Staff Development Days to have meeting, training, general cleaning and other duties. The library is open for extended hours for special programs which are announced on the library’s Facebook page, calendar and in the newspaper.
