Sonshine Puppet Ministry takes part in fair

The Sonshine Puppet Ministry recently participated in the Barbour County Fair Parade. Its mission as a puppet team is to reach out into the community and spread the good news of Jesus Christ through puppetry in a creative and unique way.

The team has been able to travel statewide and has performed for various church services, special church activities (such as Bible school, mother/daughter dinners and district meetings), women’s organizations, nursing homes, West Virginia Veterans Nursing Facility and community events such as Camp Good Grief, HOFNOD, Martin Street Fair, Tyrand Ministries, Kump House, Randolph County Fair and YMCA Christmas activities.

Puppet team members include Sandy Bennett (director), Cindi Howard, Donna Langevin, Libby Steel, Crystal Tenney, Vickie Weiford and Suzie White.

Officials are always looking for dedicated people to join the group as puppeteers or behind-the-scene workers. They perform mostly on weekends from April through November, and they practice every Monday evening at 5:30 p.m. at Otterbein United Methodist Church in Elkins.

The show is approximately 45-60 minutes long, and they always perform for free. If you are interested in more information, visit the Facebook page at www.facebook/
