Fred Brooks Garden Club creates special holiday decorations
BUCKHANNON — The Fred Brooks Garden Club held its’ regular monthly meeting Nov. 26 at the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. This was a working meeting as club members assembled pine swags to donate to the city and county for Christmas decorations. The swags will go to the Post Office, County Courthouse and Annex, Buckhannon City Building and Health Department.
After the swags were finished, refreshments were provided by the hostess for the evening, Yvonne Foster. The club will also be decorating the Christmas tree at the County Courthouse.
The October meeting was held Oct. 15 at the Tennerton United Methodist Church. The speaker for the evening was Natasha Harris with the West Virginia Extension Office. She presented a program about alternative methods of gardening, such as hanging containers and straw bale gardening. The hostess’s for the meeting were Jane Godwin and Carolyn Patterson.
